Holiday Season Support
November - December | 2014
Donate, Volunteer and Get Involved!
Many ways to help us:
There are many ways to support Raphael House of Portland this holiday season! With your help, we can foster a bright and hopeful time for families, while also raising vital funds to ensure our life-saving programs are available year round.
1. Host a Holiday Drive
Each December, we invite more than 115 of the families we’ve served to pick-out presents for themselves and their children. These items are 100% donated, so your support is essential!
You can help by collecting new, unwrapped items for women, teens and children, including: clothing (all sizes/ages), baby items, toys, household items, kitchen supplies, gift cards, hygiene products, beauty supplies and gift wrapping.

2. Donate via the Give!Guide
We’re so honored to be included in the Willamette Week Give!Guide again this year! Our goal is to raise $20,000 by December 31st, just $4000 more than last season and enough to provide 226 total safe nights in our shelter.

→ Double the impact of your donation! Our friends at Hood To Coast Relay Series will match the first 10 gifts of $100 to Raphael House, up to $1000.
→ Gifts from donors ages 35 & under can help Raphael House win an extra $1000, if we get the most in our category. Last year we were in 2nd place!
3. Support Community Promotions
Jewelry Promo In November
Through November, local Chloe + Isabel merchandiser Krystle is donating 25% of profits to support our programs! Visit her online shop and pick out something special for yourself or plan ahead for fabulous holiday gifts.
Mercantile Coat Drive | November 15 - 23
Mercantile (729 SW Alder) will give customers $100 off any new coat simply for bringing in a new or gently used one for Raphael House (minimum purchase $500).
4. Make a gift online!
More than 80¢ of every dollar contributed goes directly to programs, including our emergency domestic violence shelter and housing program!
Use our secure online system and consider all the ways your donation can impact families.
5. Volunteer with our Holiday Program
Interested in donating your time to support our annual Holiday Program? We’ll need help setting up our space beforehand (December 8-11), sorting and accepting items at our Donation Drop-off events (December 10, 11 and 18), in our Holiday “Store” (December 13 – 16 from 9:30am – 5pm), and with packing up at the end of the program (December 17-19).
Donation Drop Off Day
Thur., December 11 | 3 - 7 PM
Thur., December 18 | 4 - 7 PM
3520 SE Yamhill St. Portland, OR 97214
Donation Drop Off is held the First Thursday of each month from 11AM-2PM and on the Third Thursday from 4-7PM at Sunnyside Centenary United Methodist Church. Donors should enter the building via a basement entrance on 35th Avenue, to the right of ramp/stairs.
The generous support of community donations makes our programs possible. The current state of the economy means that costs for providing food and clothing to the survivors and their children living in our shelter have risen dramatically. If you’re interested in making a donation or hosting a donation drive at your school, office or place of worship, please check our wish lists to see what we need most!
