Being able to see the women and children in the shelter smile and laugh and look truly at ease and to see happiness and joy starting to return to their lives makes all of the long hours of training totally worth it!
-Raphael House Volunteer
Raphael House volunteers are indispensable to the success of our programs. We are always in need of more helpful hands. Some of our volunteer opportunities include:
- Helping with evening programs
- Answering our access line
- Assisting with programming for children
- Working at special events like our Destinations gala or Holiday Program
- Providing administrative support
- Sorting donations
- Other activities that utilize your special skills!
Volunteers interested in working directly with survivors of domestic violence are required to complete 40 hours of Basic Advocacy Training. Raphael House offers this training 2-3 times each year, and also partners with outside agencies to provide additional training opportunities for volunteers. For more information, please contact our Volunteer and Internship Program Coordinator (information provided below).
Please note that other volunteer opportunities not requiring training are also available! Further details are included in our Volunteer Application.
